Section 3 - Using Print Preview
Print Preview displays the document the way it will be printed.
To preview your document in Word XP and MAC Word 2004 before printing:
- Select the File Menu and choose Print Preview.
OR
- Press the Print Preview Button
on
the standard toolbar.
In the Print Preview mode you will notice when you move the mouse
pointer over the document it changes to a small magnifying glass
.
Click the magnifying glass on the document to zoom the document
in or out. The following diagram gives an explanation of the options
you have in Print Preview mode using the Print Preview toolbar.
Word XP

The Magnifier Button is used to enter and
edit text in Print Preview mode. By default Word has the
button selected, click on the Magnifier button to deselect
it and it will turn the mouse pointer from a magnifying
glass to a cursor and then you may enter or edit text in
Print Preview mode.
To preview your document in Word 2007 before printing:
- Click the Office button. Point to Print and then click Print Preview from the pop-up menu.
- Check the Magnifier option in the Print Preview tab to change your cursor to a small magnifying glass. This will allow you to zoom in or out by clicking on the document. You may also click the Zoom button to enlarge an area of the page.
- To edit your document in Print Preview, uncheck the Magnifier option to change your cursor back.
