Microsoft PowerPoint has menus and toolbars to choose various commands and options. In PowerPoint XP has a task pane located on the right side of the screen, changing dynamically depending on your current action. The main portion of the window is the presentation window. The image on the next page should help you understand the main parts of the Power Point XP Window.

B. Menu bar
C. Standard bar
D. Formatting toolbar
E. Outline tab
F. Slides tab
G. View buttons
H. Drawing toolbar
I. Task pane- edit slides, graphics, fonts, etc.
J. Slide pane- enter text and graphics in each slide
K. Notes Pane- type in notes for each slide
