Section 3- Adding Animations

Animations allow you to bring your presentation to life, but more importantly, they allow you to control the flow of information. Animations can be applied to text, graphics, and diagrams in a slide.

To Apply Animation

PowerPoint XP

  • Select the slide to be animated.
  • Click on the Slide Show button on the main menu bar and select Animation Schemes.
  • Click on any of the animations listed in the Task Pane to preview.

MAC PowerPoint 2004

  • Select the slide to be animated.
  • Click on the Slide Show button on the main menu bar and select Preset Animations.
  • Choose any of the animations listed and then click on the Slide Show button and Animation preview to preview what the animation will look.

PowerPoint 2007

  • Click on the Animations tab.
  • Select the slide and the text you would like to animate.
  • Click on the down arrow next to the animate box and select an animation. The preview will automatically be displayed.
