Section 5 - Technology Classroom Concerns
• If the projector won't come on, the problem can be fixed
remotely on most LCD projectors. The on-screen desktop control
program is the preferred method of powering up the projector.
This integrated control system reduces freezes caused by infrared
controls. The wireless mouse/remote is best used for a mobilized
presenter in need of fast transitions between Power Point slides.
• If the projector is on and there is nothing displayed
on the screen, typically the “input” must be changed.
If there is still no display, Media Services should be called.
The number for Media Services is ext. 8663 and is printed on every
teacher workstation desktop.
• The new wireless mouse system utilizes Radio Frequency
technology which results in far fewer problems. In most classrooms
the concerns caused by room lights interfering with the infrared
signal of the wireless control are no longer a problem.
• All classrooms have amplified sound. When using sound,
remember to turn on the amplifier. Make sure the sound has not
been muted on the computer.
