| St.
Edward's University provides free Internet access to all students
living off campus, as well as faculty and staff from home, through
the St. Edward's modem pool. The modem pool supports modem speeds
up to 56k. Cable modems, ISDN and DSL are not supported.
You
must use your St. Edward's login and password to access the
modem pool.

is 512-437-7700
Configuring
Macintosh OS X for Connecting via Modem
Configure Dial-In
1. In the Apple Menu, select System Preferences.
2. Double click on Network.
3. In the Location pop up, select New Location.
4. Name the connection Dial-In, then click OK.
5. In the first Configure pop up, select Modem Port.
6. In the second Configure pop up under TCP/IP, select Using PPP .
7. Type stedwards.edu in the Search Domains: field.

8. Click on the PPP tab behind TCP/IP.
9. Enter SEU for the Service Provider.
10. Enter 437-7700 for the telephone number.
*If you have call-waiting, enter *70,437-7700.
11. Enter your login name without capital letters.
12. Enter your password. Also check to be sure that you're entering capital
and lower-case letters appropriately. *You may check the option to save password
if you do not want to have to enter your password each time you connect.
13. Click on the Save button.
Your screen should look like this:

To Connect 1. Select the Finder. If you cannot select the
finder, quit out of all applications to get Finder.
2. From the Finder menu bar, click on Go and select Applications.
3. Double click on Internet Connect.

4. Click on Connect to dial-in.
To Create Internet Connect Shortcut
- Locate the Internet Connect in the Applications
menu.
- Hold down the Control key on the keyboard and click on
Internet Connect. This will bring up a sub-menu. Select Make
Alias from the sub-menu.
- Click and hold on the the new icon
named Internet Connect Alias, then drag the icon to the destop
and release.
