Internet Access Off Campus - Troubleshooting Dial-Up Networking for Macintosh OS 9
 

St. Edward's University provides free Internet access to all students living off campus, as well as faculty and staff from home, through the St. Edward's modem pool. The modem pool supports modem speeds up to 56k. Cable modems, ISDN and DSL are not supported.

You must use your St. Edward's login and password to access the modem pool.

The phone number for connecting to the modem pool is 512-437-7700.

Changing your Password
If you change your St. Edward's password you must also change it on your dial-in connection on your Mac.

OS X

  1. In the Apple Menu, select System Preferences.
  2. Double click on Network.
  3. Click on the PPP tab behind TCP/IP.
  4. Enter your new password. Also check to be sure that you're entering capital and lower-case letters appropriately. *You may check the option to save password if you do not want to have to enter your password each time you connect.
  5. Click on the Save button.

Click on the Apple Menu and go to Control Panels. Select the Remote Access control panel.

Enter your new password.
Click on the close box in the upper left hand corner. When prompted to Save, click on OK .
