| Logging into the St.
Edward’s Network for the
first time
In an effort to provide a more secure and reliable resident computer
network, Network Services will require a login to access the network.
All Residence Hall users with Windows Operating System computers must login to
the Clean Access Tool to gain access to the SEU network. This
tool scans the computer to verify that all anti-virus and Windows
updates are current.
Instructions for logging into the network and
running Clean Access.
The following are instructions on how
to obtain the tool, and login to gain access to the network.
When a machine attempts to connect to the web without having
the Clean Access Tool enabled, the user will receive a page
prompting them to download the tool. Macintosh users do not
have to use the Clean Access Tool, but they do have to login
to the initial verification screen on their browser.
*If you have the tool installed, then please login to Clean Access (Step 6). You do not have to reinstall the tool.
*If you have Clean Access, then please right click on the icon at the bottom right hand corner and select Exit before following these steps.
- Connect your computer to the Ethernet jack in your room.
- Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape
to access the network login screen. Login with your SEU login
name and password and click on Continue. If
you do not know your login name and password, please contact
the Helpdesk at 448-8443.
- If you have a Macintosh computer, then you now have access
to the SEU network.
- If you have a PC then please continue with the following
instructions.
* If you have the tool installed, then please login to Clean Access (Step
6). You do not have to reinstall the tool.

Click on the Download Clean AccessAgent 3.5.4 button. 
*If you have Clean Access, then please right click on the icon at the bottom right hand corner and select Exit before following these steps.
4. You will then receive a prompt to download a file. Select Open or Run. If you are running Windows XP SP2 you will be prompted to select Run twice.
5. Click on Next twice, then click on Install. Once it has successfully installed click on Finish.

Right click on the Clean Access icon at the bottom right hand corner, and select Login.

7. Enter your SEU login information into the Clean Access
login screen and click on Login. Your computer
will then be scanned.

8. Once the scan is complete, you will receive
a confirmation page.

- If you receive a screen
stating that you have successfully logged into the network,
then you now have access to the SEU network. Click OK.
- If
you receive a screen that grants you temporary access, then
you must update your anti-virus protection and your Windows
Updates. You will have one hour of access to update your
software. Please follow the Updating software instructions.
