Internet Access On Campus - Configuring Windows 2000

Logging into the St. Edward’s Network for the first time

In an effort to provide a more secure and reliable resident computer network, Network Services will require a login to access the network. All Residence Hall users with Windows Operating System computers must login to the Clean Access Tool to gain access to the SEU network. This tool scans the computer to verify that all anti-virus and Windows updates are current. Instructions for logging into the network and running Clean Access.

Checking your Local Area Connection Properties
If you cannot reach the network to login at all you may need to check your Local Area Connection Settings.

1) Go to the Control Panel, then to Network Connections. Right click on the Local Area Connection and click on Properties. Your screen should look similar to this.

2) Select Internet Protocol(TCP/IP), and click on Properties.

3) In the TCP/IP Properties window, select Obtain an IP address automatically, and Obtain DNS server address automatically.

4) Click OK to close the TCP/IP Properties window, then click on close.
*You may be prompted for the Windows disks or CD. Follow the on-screen instructions. When done you will be prompted to restart the computer. Click YES to restart.
