To access SEU's wireless network you must
- Have a laptop with Windows 2000, XP or Macintosh
OS X or a Palm OS PDA
- A wireless network card that supports the 802.11b wireless
protocol. The SEU Bookstore sells Lynksys cards for Windows
Operating System laptops. Instructions
for configuring the Linksys card.
- Use your St. Edward's University login and password to login
to the network. * If you are unable to connect, please see Wireless
Troubleshooting.
Access from Residence Halls
Wireless access in the residence halls is available in public
areas of Doyle and throughout Dujarie, East, Teresa and Basil
Moreau Halls. However,
the wireless connection in rooms should not be considered a
replacement for the "wired" or
ethernet connection available in every room. Wireless connections
are slower and much more susceptible to interference from other
devices such as 2.4 GHz cordless phones, microwaves, and wireless
speakers.
Access from Student Apartments
Wireless access is available in every on campus student apartment.
