Using the
Class List on the EdWeb for Faculty site
**Your computer must first have an email application setup
(Ex. Eudora).
- Connect to the Internet
- Open your web browser and go to the EdWeb
for Faculty site at http://www.stedwards.edu/regist/facinfo.htm and
click on EdWeb for Faculty.
- Login in with the login name and password used for
EdWeb, E-mail, etc.
- On the left side of the web page, click on the link
for Class List.
- On the right side of web page enter the Course
Number and Course Section. The Course Number is the
4 letter abbreviation for the class followed by the
number for the class. This should be the same as that
found in the Course Catalog. For example, Arts 1317
should be entered as: ARTS 1317 (ARTS<space>1317).
Education 3331 should be entered as EDUC 3331 (EDUC<space>3331).
- Click on the button to Submit
Request.
- You will see a listing of all students enrolled in
your class. You may click on the link to Send e-mail
to all or click on any individual e-mail address to
send to one student. This will cause the e-mail application
setup to work with your web browser to launch. The
students' e-mail address will populate the To: line
of a blank e-mail message.
Using the System wide E-mail Alias
Each class section taught at SEU is given a system wide mail
alias to enable easier communication between faculty and students.
The alias is created by the system, and will be available each
semester beginning the first day that registration for that
class is available (meaning pre-registration, when available)
until 30 days after the last day of classes. The alias will
take the following form:
class.<session><year><course>.<section>
<session> is the session the course is being offered
(fa, fanc, sp, etc.)
<year> is the last four digits of the year
<course> is the course name (without spaces, but including periods) Note
that course numbers for New College courses include a- before the course abbreviation.
<section> is the course section (01,02 ...)
EXAMPLES:
For the Fall 2004 class, HSSP 5353: Group Counseling the alias would be:
class.fa2004hssp5353.01@stedwards.edu
Note that if you are sending email from a computer connected to the St. Edward's
network, it is not necessary to add the server name(@stedwards.edu) to
the email address. You can just send the mail to: class.fa2003hssp5353.01
For the Spring 2004 class, A-BUSI 2305, New College Buisiness
Statistics the alias would be: class.sp2004a-busi2305.01@stedwards.edu
Sending mail with this alias will result in the mail
being sent to the instructor for the section (to his/her
administrative account), and each student registered for
the course (to his/her academic account). This mailing
list will be updated daily to include any changes in registration.
Note: Any individually set fowarding file will
still forward this mail just like all other mail
for that user.
