Using Mozilla Thunderbird
 

Setting up Mozilla Thunderbird for the St. Edward's University Mail Server

  1. Open Thunderbird and go to the Tools menu and select Account Settings.
  2. Click on Server Settings.
  3. Change the Server Name to mail.stedwards.edu. The default port should automatically be entered as 995 when you select SSL in the next step. If another value was previously enterd, change it to 995.
  4. Under Security Settings select SSL.
  5. Under the Account Settings colum click on the Outgoing Server (SMTP) server.

  6. Select the account you wish to change and click on Edit.
  7. Enter smtp.stedwards.edu for the Server Name. The default port should be listed as 25.
  8. Check the box next to Use name and password.
  9. Enter your user name.
  10. Under Use secure connection check TLS.
  11. Click on OK to save your changes.
  12. To change your email address and account name, click on the account name listed directly under Account Settings.
  13. Change your email address to username@stedwards.edu.
  14. Change your account name to username@stedwards.edu.
  15. Click on OK to save your changes.
