Address Lists

Zimbra supports two types of address lists, your personal contacts list and the Global Address List.

Your personal Contacts list is maintained and used exclusively by you. No other user can see your Contacts list.

Within Zimbra, the St. Edward's University directory, Global Address List, is available to faculty, staff, and students. You cannot edit GAL entries. You can, however, import the address once it appears in mail you have sent or received. You can then add additional information, once it is in your Contacts list.

To access your contacts list click on the Addressbook icon from the application chooser.

The contacts list is your personal address book. Only you can view the contents of your contacts list. Only a name is required to create a contact. You can create detailed contact cards that include full name, multiple email addresses, work, home, and other addresses, phone numbers, and notes about that contact.

Contact List Views

You can view contacts by list or as detailed cards. To change the view, in the contacts location box, click View and select either Detailed Cards or Contact List.

Detailed cards show the information you entered in the Contact form. Contact list is a vertical list of all your contacts. You can change the default Contact View in Options, Contacts.
