Clearing a Student's Assignment Attempt
 

If a student attempts an assignment but fails during submission or requests to resubmit the assignment, instructors can clear the assignment attempt.

Note: If a student Saves a submission, but does not submit it, the padlock symbol padlock iconwill appear in the cell. The student has not submitted the assignment so it cannot be cleared. The student needs to go back to the Assignment and click on Submit.

  1. Open the Control Panel for the course.
  2. Click on Grade Center.
  3. Click on the cell that corresponds to the student's attempt. If the assignment has not yet been graded, an ! will appear in the cell.
  4. You will get the screen that gives you the ability to enter a grade.  It has a VIEW button on the far right side. Click on View.

  5. In Section 1 click on the Clear Attempt button.
