Blackboard How Do I?

Faculty - How Do I? Student - How Do I?

Question

My professor said course materials were available on Blackboard but I don't see that course listed when I log into Blackboard. How do I access the course?

Answer

While all classes listed in the official St. Edward's University Course Catalog are also added to Blackboard, students will not see a particular course listed in Blackboard until the instructor makes it available to students.

Instructions for Instructors on making Blackboard courses available to students

When classes are added to Blackboard from the SEU Course Catalog, they are all made "unavailable" by default. This allows instructors the option of using Blackboard for their course and allows instructors to add course content before making the course available to students. To make a course available:

  1. Click on the link for the class in Blackboard.
  2. Go to the Control Panel.
  3. Go to the Settings under Course Options.
  4. Click on Course Availability and select the circle to the left of Yes.
  5. Click on Submit.

The course materials will then be available to all students enrolled in the course.
