Blackboard - Copying Course Content

Copying Course Content from Semester to Semester
All courses in the St. Edward's University official Course Catalog have a Blackboard course created automatically. Courses for the upcoming semester are loaded into Blackboard 45 days prior to the first class day.

To re-use materials from semester to semester faculty may use the Course Copy tool to copy all or some content from one course to another.

  1. Log in to Blackboard and access the course which contains the materials you wish to copy.
  2. Go to the Control Panel and select Course Copy from the Course Options section.
  3. Select Copy Course Materials into an Existing Course. Faculty do not have permission to create new courses. If you need a course created that does not exist in the official SEU Course Catalog contact Instructional Computing or the Blackboard System Administrator.
  4. Select the Destination Course ID. When you click on Browse and then Search you will see all of the other courses for which you are an instructor in Blackboard. You may only copy content to a course for which you are listed as the instructor.
  5. Select the course you want to copy content into by clicking on the Select button to the right of the course name. You may need to make the search window larger to see the Select button.
  6. Select Content to be copied. If you are copying blogs or wikis please see material related to Copying Blogs/Wikis.
  7. Do NOT copy enrollment.
  8. Click on Submit to begin the copy process.

If you have problems with this process please contact the System Administrator.
