Blackboard Course Deletion

Course Deletions

Faculty see all courses that have been assigned to them via the Registrar's office or courses that have been manually created for them by special requests. Students only see courses that have been made available to them by instructors. Courses are automatically made unavailable to students on the 12th class day of the next semester. Faculty who need to extend the time a class is available to students will need to manually make the course available to students after the 12th class day.

How long do courses remain on Blackboard?

Classes remain on the Blackboard system for 2 years. Every summer the Blackboard administrator will remove all courses over 2 years in age. If faculty need to keep copies of older courses an archive feature is available to save a complete copy of the course.

How do I request removal of courses from Blackboard?

If faculty need to have courses removed before 2 years please contact the System Administrator. Courses must remain on the Blackboard system for at least 2 semesters - 1 year in case of grade challenges. The System Administrator can remove courses that are older than 2 semesters - 1 year.
