What are Virus Definitions?
These are files that provide information
to antivirus software to find and repair viruses. Since new
viruses are created all the time it is crucial that you keep your
virus definitions up-to-date. Simply installing virus protection
and never updating the virus definitions will not protect your
computer.
Students
Symantec AntiVirus is provided free to all St. Edward's
University students. It may be installed from the SEU Network
Installer available at the Bookstore and Computer Help Desk (Moody
Hall 309) or call the Computer Help Desk (448-8443) for download
information. All on-campus residents are required to install
and update virus protection in order to access the residence
hall network. See instructions for updating virus definitions
for the residence halls.
Faculty
and Staff
All St. Edward's University owned desktop computers on
campus should have Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition installed. Live Update
