Instructional Design Consultation
Instructional Computing offers consultations to all faculty interested in integrating technology into their courses. In collaboration with the Center for Teaching Excellence, we help faculty to design and produce web-delivered courses and learning modules that meet their learning goals and support good learning experiences for students. We also consult with faculty to develop online course delivery and management strategies that are aligned with their teaching styles and technology skills, striving for the best fit between technology tools and both student and faculty needs.
Examples of technology solutions we recommend and support are:
| Blackboard |
Discussion forums, content management and automatic assessments |
| Custom-designed websites |
Individualized website to support specific faculty needs |
| Interactive multimedia modules |
Flash-based games, learning activities and assessments |
| Centra Online Conferencing System |
Real-time discussions and lectures, sharing of materials, presentations and collaboration online |
| Streaming audio lectures |
Synchronous or asynchronous delivery of lectures online |
| Web-based, database-driven projects |
Collection and display of data, progress tracking, detailed reports. |
Instructional Computing consultations may be scheduled for a single online assessment, a fully interactive online program, or anything in between.
