Home Usage Rights
Home Use refers to a Faculty/Staff member's right to install
a second copy of software, obtained through the I.T. Department, on either a
laptop or home machine. Only the primary user of a St. Edward's University computer on which
a copy of the software is installed may install a second copy, and such copy must
be used for the normal work of the University carried out at home.
Licensing agreements are often complex. A single vendor may have various licensing
agreements for each product, release, version, and platform. It should be assumed
that software manufactures do not include "Home Use" rights unless specifically
stated.
