Spring Adjunct Faculty Orientation

This session is designed for new adjuncts and returning adjuncts who have not attended a previous orientation. Orientation will begin at 8 a.m. followed by a 12:30 p.m. luncheon in the Moody atrium. From 8 to 8:30 a.m., faculty members will receive office assignments and process HR employment forms. The rest of the orientation will cover a variety of topics that should help orient new adjuncts to St. Edward’s. Faculty members will learn about the St. Edward’s University mission, ethos and students. They will be introduced to key support staff and services in the Scarborough-Phillips Library, Instructional Computing, Disability Services, Center for Teaching Excellence and other offices. Faculty members will also be briefed about key academic policies. They will have the chance to hear from and ask questions of experienced adjunct faculty. During lunch, new adjuncts can meet their deans or associate deans, area coordinators or chairs, and a few other adjuncts in the programs for which they’ll be teaching.
