Political Commentator for ABC News Cokie Roberts to Speak at St. Edward's University Graduation 
St. Edward's University will confer 604 degrees during the university's 122nd commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 3 at the Frank Erwin Center, 1701 Red River. Cokie Roberts, award-winning journalist and author, will deliver the keynote address and will be recognized with an honorary degree.
Roberts is a senior news analyst for NPR and a political commentator for ABC News. She is a recipient of the Edward R. Murrow Award, public radio's highest honor. Her analysis and reporting have earned her three Emmy awards and induction into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame.
Outside of broadcasting, Roberts and her husband, Steve, write a weekly column syndicated by United Media that appears in newspapers around the country. She is the author of four books including the recently published Ladies of Liberty: The Women Who Shaped Our Nation, which is currently #4 on the New York Times best seller list.

Angela Vorpahl, of Katy, Texas, will deliver the valedictory address. Vorpahl will graduate summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish. A student-athlete, she served as captain of the Hilltopper Volleyball team. Vorpahl also received the 2008 St. Edward's University Presidential Award.
Graduation Information for Students and Parents
Graduates should plan to meet at the Frank Erwin Center in the Lone Star Room between 9 and 9:30 a.m. Use the Red River Street entrance and follow the signs to the Reception Hall for lining up. Ushers will be available to direct the graduates. At 9:30 a.m., graduates will start assembling into ranks.
Only graduates and faculty members will be seated in the chairs on the floor. Guests in wheelchairs should enter through the Red River Street entrance where ushers will assist them to the elevator, and to the Arena Level.
After the ceremony, graduates should arrange to meet with their family and friends outside the Frank Erwin Center on the north end by the flagpoles.
