AUSTIN-St.
Edward's University administrators named two new deans to head its
School of Humanities and its School of Natural Sciences.
Dr.
Andrew Robson, a former professor of English at Southeastern
Oklahoma State University, will lead St. Edward's University School
of Humanities. Robson, who earned his doctoral degree from the Australian
National University, also served as chair of the English, Humanities,
and Languages Department at Southeastern Oklahoma. He brings to
St. Edwardês a wealth of experience on historical and current education
and development issues on the Pacific Islands. Robson succeeds Marcia
Kinsey, who retired as dean of the School of Humanities and has
returned to teaching.
Dr.
Roger Yu, former chair of the department of physics and the
director of undergraduate research at Central Washington University,
will lead St. Edward's University's School of Natural Sciences.
He holds a doctoral degree in physics from Montana State University.
Yu initiated Central Washington University's Symposium on Undergraduate
Research and Creative Expression, an annual event that provides
students a forum for presenting the results of their original research
projects. Yu succeeds Dr. J.D. Lewis, who was named vice president
of the undergraduate college at St. Edwardês University and Dr.
William Quinn, who served as interim dean of the school for a year.
St.
Edwardês University is an independent, Catholic liberal arts university
of 3,700 students in Austin. It was founded by the Congregation
of Holy Cross.
