AUSTINSt.
Edward's University bestowed awards to outstanding alumni during
Reunion Weekend, on Saturday, June 23, 2001. Unlike most colleges
and universities whose alumni get together annually for a homecoming
event, St. Edward's University convenes for Reunion Weekend every
other year. This year, close to 400 alumni attended.
The
alumni awards are a way to celebrate the achievements of individuals
and the quality of a Holy Cross education. The University bestowed
two "Alumni Achievement Awards" to J. Hollis Bone, '93, and Geronimo
Rodriguez, '90; an "Honorary Alumnus Award" to Richard Kinsey, and
four "Distinguished Alumni Awards" to Tom Ryan, '63, Victor Kramer,
'61, Ed Olliges, '53, and Maurice Quigley, '50.
St.
Edward's University is an independent Catholic liberal arts university
of 3,800 students in Austin. It was founded by the Congregation
of Holy Cross.
