St. Edward's professor receives recognition from
Library Governor's Commission

AUSTIN — Ev Lunning, assistant professor of theater arts at St. Edward's University, was honored with a resolution from the Texas State Library Governor's Commission in May 2003 for his volunteer work for the Talking Book Program.

The commission recognized Lunning's outstanding contributions as a narrator and announced that three of Lunning's narrations: Justis Colt by Don Bendell, Trespasses: Portraits of a Serial Rapist by Howard Swindle and Footnotes: A Memoir by Tommy Tune, have been selected by the National Library Service (NLS) for the Blind and Physically Handicapped of the Library of Congress (NLS). Only 10 narrations have been selected by NLS from all state libraries in the United States since the program's inception.

Lunning has volunteered more than 900 hours, narrating 39 projects for the Talking Book Program of the Texas State Libraries since 1992.

Founded by the Congregation of Holy Cross, St. Edward’s University is a private Catholic, liberal arts university of more than 4,250 students in Austin, Texas.
