When
R.P. McMurphy (Brent Werzner, ’03) lands in the state mental
hospital, he finds himself in a battle bigger than he ever expected:
the battle between conformity and individuality. Through his attempts
to liberate his fellow inmates from the domineering emotional and
psychological clutches of Nurse Ratched (Elizabeth Wakehouse, ’02),
he falls prey to the power and brutality of institutional complacency.
“Like
a cartoon world, where the figures are flat and outlined in black,
jerking through some kind of goofy story that might be real funny
if it weren’t for the cartoon figures being real guys …”
