Election
Day is getting closer, but Travis County voters can beat the rush
by casting their vote early. On Tuesday, Oct. 26, a mobile voting
station will stop at St. Edward’s University in order to bring
the polling place to the voter and accommodate busy schedules.
“Early
voting is the perfect opportunity for voters to exercise their most
sacred political right,” said St. Edward’s University
Assistant Professor Brian William Smith, PhD. “With early
voting and convenient locations, voters don’t have an excuse
not to vote.”
Registered voters
can vote with a voter registration card, driver’s license
or any government-issued photo ID, birth certificate, United States
citizenship papers or passport, a copy of a current utility bill,
bank statement or other official document that shows the name and
address of the voter.
Early voting
in Texas began on Monday, Oct. 18, and will run through Friday,
Oct. 29.
