Texas artist exhibits work at St. Edward’s University

St. Edward’s University is pleased to present Clay and Metal, an art exhibition showing the works of Ishmael Soto. The exhibition will be on display Sept. 3 through Sept. 24 in the gallery of the Fine Arts Center on campus. A reception will be held on Friday, Sept. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Including well-known pieces such as “Vessel” and “Teapot,” Soto’s works are the culmination of his exploration for various shapes and surfaces and a personal reflection of his appreciation for the inspiring forms in his native state.

Exhibition hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information about the Art Exhibition Series, contact Associate Professor Stan Irvin at 512-448-8685.
