From
those handed down through generations to the simple kid’s
bedtime variety, good stories are universally loved. The St. Edward’s
University Master of Liberal Arts program in association with the
Central Texas Storytelling Guild is proud to present the 13th Annual
Central Texas “Tellabration!” at St. Edward’s
University. On Saturday, Nov. 20, storytellers and listeners will
join together to celebrate the magic and wisdom of story through
the “Tellabration!” event. Last year, more than 300
“Tellabration!” events were held in 42 states and 10
countries. This year’s “Tellabration!” weekend
will be held across at least six continents — from Austin
to Australia, Calgary to California and Glasgow to Gladstone, stories
will be shared on a variety of topics and in numerous languages.
Here in Austin,
the fun begins at 6:30 p.m. with “Story Circus,” a variety
of stories for children and followed at 7:45 p.m. by “Sittin’
and Listenin’,” which features tales for the young at
heart. This year’s event concludes with a special, adults-only
performance of “Psst! Wanna Hear This?,” from 10 p.m.–midnight
at the Life Dance Institute located directly across Congress Avenue
from St. Edward’s.
