Oct. 25, the Center for Ethics and Leadership at St. Edward’s
University presents an evening with Journey of Hope…From Violence
to Healing, a nonprofit organization led by murder victims’
family members. The group conducts public education speaking tours
and addresses alternatives to the death penalty.
At 5 p.m., St.
Edward’s University student Kristen Beauchamp, ’06,
will begin the evening with the premiere of her documentary called
Living and Dying in Huntsville. At 7 p.m., there will be a presentation
from Journey of Hope. Members will share their stories and participate
in a question and answer session. One of the panelists is the Unabomber’s
brother, David Kaczynski.
Journey of
Hope’s presentation spotlights murder victims’ family
members who choose not to seek revenge and instead select a path
of compassion and forgiveness. Also featured are death row inmates’
family members, witnesses to executions, individuals who have been
exonerated and released from death row, and many others with firsthand
insights.
