Exposed,
the St. Edward’s University Photocommunications Senior Student
Exhibition--the culmination of 4 years of study--opens Friday, March
4 in the gallery of the university’s Fine Arts Center. Titled
Exposed, this exhibit is a diverse and eclectic mix of highlights
from the portfolios of 11 senior students, and includes a range
of black and white as well as color photographic images.
“We
don’t have an area of specialization in the Photocommunications
program at St. Edwards,” said Sybil Miller, professor of Photocommunications.
“We teach a diverse approach to the medium, and let the students
choose their specialization based on their interests. That choice
is reflected in this exhibit.”
Since
1980, the Photocommunications program has offered a broad curriculum
of photography, photographic history, digital imaging and multi-media
courses. The exhibit is an illustration of this curriculum.
The
student photographers are: Joline Aasal-Ban, Caroline Cohoon, Edward
Cruz, Amber Dalgliesh, Ginger Hardeman, Maria Huong Le, Michelle
Lambing, Mariscela Mendez, Courtney Pierce, Nikki Stephenson and
Natalia Zamarripa.
