CommUNITY: Promoting unity, embracing differences.
It's no surprise that St. Edward's University is open to students of all faiths. What may be surprising, though, is that we actively encourage you to explore issues of spirituality, social justice, diversity — and others — as part of your own growth and self discovery. That is the Holy Cross legacy at St. Edward's — to educate the heart as well as the mind.
CommUNITY, new from Campus Ministry, allows you to engage in dialogue with peers, explore questions of faith and come to an intellectual appreciation for diversity in a way that promotes unity and acceptance, while embracing our differences. CommUNITY ranges from Christian to non-Christian groups, events and activities, providing opportunities for students to open windows into different communities in a trusting and non-judgmental environment.
Within the CommUNITY, Campus Ministry provides a growing array of services including:
- Student CommUNITY Groups connect you with peers of your own faith and meet students of other faiths.
-
CommUNITY Events such as the Passover Seder, Iftar Dinner and Noah's Pudding allow you to experience the practices of other faiths.
-
Austin Connections allow you to locate a variety of Austin religious communities.
-
Spiritual Guidance gives you an opportunity to reflect on
your own experiences.
In an age of rapid social and technological change, finding common ground through unity is a necessity for future leaders who will need to make ethical and moral decisions. CommUNITY serves as the nexus at St. Edward's where students can share knowledge of their own faith in fellowship with others, to ask questions and to discover true knowledge of the world.
