Sacramental Preparation

A Sacramental Preparation Program is offered to students to prepare them to receive the sacraments of initiation into the Catholic faith. These sacraments include: Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation. Sacramental Preparation begins in the Fall (August) and culminates in the Spring (April) Semesters. Students will not be accepted after the program has begun.

Baptismal Preparation for Parents and Godparents
A Baptismal preparation program to prepare parents and godparents is available to current undergraduate St. Edward's University students. These parents and godparents may then schedule a baptism at the chapel.

Sacrament of Marriage
If you plan to get married in the Catholic church, we ask that the couple make arrangements for marriage preparation at least 6 months prior to the wedding. Please contact the Campus Ministry office for more information.

Our Lady Queen of Peace chapel is available for weddings for current students, faculty, staff, alumni and the worshipping community of St. Edward's University (those who already attend mass at the chapel). Weddings must be scheduled at least 6 months in advance and a $100 donation is required to reserve a wedding date. We ask that the wedding ceremony be a religious ceremony, no Civil ceremonies are permitted. A chapel policy and procedures guide will be given to couples who have been given permission to use the chapel for their wedding ceremony.
