Center for Action and Contemplation: Albuquerque, New Mexico
| Immersion Dates: |
Saturday, March 8–Saturday, March 15, 2008 |
| Where: |
Albuquerque, New Mexico and Juarez, Mexico |
| Site Description: |
Focus will be on immigration with a border experience. |
The Center for Action and Contemplation is a place to come, be still and learn how to integrate a contemplative lifestyle with compassionate service. We will examine contemplation and deepen our connection to the earth and each other.
Participants will also engage in a border experience to increase their understanding of issues relating to immigration. Through this experience, you'll be in solidarity with the poor of Juarez, Mexico. The goal is to provide hands-on experience and relationship building across borders while staying with Mexican families and reflecting on global issues such as economics, food, poverty and water as they relate to our southern neighbors. A passport is required.
