Master of Liberal Arts Symposium

The Symposium offers a sampling of the diverse academic achievements of St. Edward's University's MLA graduating and current students. We invite you to attend all of the presentations, though you are certainly free to come and go to selected presentations as your schedule allows. The MLA program offers a rich variety of disciplines from which to choose allowing students to pursue their individual interests, as the presentations will show. Perhaps the symposium presentations will inspire you to follow your own direction of study through our Master of Liberal Arts.

Investigates the idea of the hero in fiction and how the hero figure has changed in such contemporary works as those of Christopher Moore and Octavia Butler

Examines methods, challenges, and opportunities in teacher training and development, recognizing and identifying teachers as adult learners

Explores the contemporary artist's personal expression of spirituality in art and the viewer's response to it in the modern absence of overtly religious artistic themes
