Specializations (12 hours from list of approved courses)
Students concentrate their remaining learning by choosing 12 semester hours of approved courses within human services, communication, gerontology, management, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, social work, or non-profit management. These will be chosen, in consultation with an advisor, to support the particular human servicees career directions being pursued by individual students. At least half of the 48 hour major should be upper division hours.

Students pursuing a certificate in non-profit management and those pursuing licensure as a drug and alcohol counselor have specific courses required as part of this specialization and should work closely with their advisor to assure that the coursework is appropriate.
