BAAS Inverted Degree

The inverted degree is designed especially for graduates of Associates of Applied Science (AAS) degree programs. Students who have earned an AAS degree in an area of study not available at SEU can earn a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Science (BAAS) from SEU without selecting a new major. Some examples of AAS degrees that we accept for the inverted degree include electronics technology, radiology technology, technical communication, and real estate. Students choosing the inverted degree option are required to hold an AAS degree from an accredited* two-year institution before enrolling at SEU. The requirements for the inverted degree are:
  1. Satisfactory completion of the New College degree plan, including the mission courses and the general education requirements.
  2. Satisfactory completion of a minor. Inverted degree students must complete the entire minor at SEU.
  3. Satisfaction of all requirements for graduation, including completion of online computer competencies, at least 30 SEU credit hours and completion of a minimum of 120 total credit hours.
*An accredited institution is a college or university which has been accredited from one of the following recognized regional accrediting commissions: Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, New England Association of Schools and Colleges, North Central Association of Schools and Colleges, Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Proprietary and specialized, single purpose institutions accredited by these same regional bodies or any other accrediting body are specifically excluded.
