Undergraduate program for working adults

Message from the Dean

Welcome to the New College web site. You have come to a very interesting place.

Since 1974, New College has served adult students—persons like yourself—by encouraging them to complete bachelors' degrees that combine credit earned previously, either at St. Edward's or elsewhere; evening, weekend, and web-based New College courses; directed independent study; and credit for experiential learning.

Working with a New College faculty especially sensitive to the needs of adults, New College graduates have pursued degrees in nearly all the undergraduate majors offered at St. Edward's University and have earned the Bachelor of Arts, the Bachelor of Science, the Bachelor of Arts in Applied Science, the Bachelor of Liberal Studies, and the Bachelor of Business Administration. Three New College degree programs-Business and Management, Computer Systems Management, and Organizational Communication-are offered in an accelerated format, allowing students to complete majors in as little as one year.

In addition, many undergraduate students have accelerated their degree programs even further by taking advantage of our portfolio-based prior learning assessment process.

More than 25 years and almost 1,500 graduates later, some people ask how it is that New College can still call itself "new." I hope the reason is clear. New College is in the business of helping adults re-new themselves. If renewal is what you are seeking, I hope you will read further and will apply to us. We look forward to working with you and to becoming a part of your future.
