When R.P. McMurphy (Brent Werzner, '03) lands in the state mental hospital, he finds himself in a battle bigger than he ever expected: the battle between conformity and individuality. Through his attempts to liberate his fellow inmates from the domineering emotional and psychological clutches of Nurse Ratched (Elizabeth Wakehouse, '02), he falls prey to the power and brutality of institutional complacency.

J. ED ARAIZA, member of the world-renowned SITI Company, returns again to MMNT to work with talented St. Edward's students and alumni. Mr. Araiza has created three original works for St. Edward's students. THE HOUSE earned Austin Critics' Table nominations for Outstanding Ensemble and Supporting Actress (Elizabeth Wakehouse, '02) and C/O THE GROVE garnered five nominations from the Austin Critics' Table, including a nod for Original Script and Best Direction, and won in the Outstanding Ensemble Performance category. In 2003, Araiza's THE MEDEA STORIES earned six nominations and won in the Best Ensemble Performance and Best Movement categories.

The Mary Moody Northen Theatre of St. Edward's University offers the only pre-professional undergraduate theater program of its kind in the United States. Designed for the student-artist, the program offers theater-based academic training with a rigorous liberal arts curriculum.
