St. Edward's Welcomes Record Number of Students Back to Campus
While Olympic champions shatter records in Athens, St. Edward's University is breaking some records of its own here in Austin. For the fourth consecutive year, the private liberal arts university in South Austin welcomes its largest freshman class of more than 600 students and record overall enrollment expected to be more than 4,550 — all while maintaining its signature small class sizes and personalized attention. And while new students won't take home Olympic gold medals, they will earn something much more important from the transformative, faith-based education.
Students begin moving into campus residence halls and apartments at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21. Volunteers, including student athletes, faculty and staff, will be on hand to help haul bags, boxes and books into the new homes. St. Edward's is planning a variety of events during Welcome Week to help students settle in and make new friends.
