St. Edward's University Music Program holds Valentine's Benefit Concert
After a stressful week, the best therapy is treating yourself to heavenly dessert while enjoying the harmonic sounds of a favorite classical artist. St. Edward's University is pleased to present just such a remedy: Love is Here to Stay, an Evening of Gershwin, a special Valentine's benefit concert. Performed by musical theater ensemble the Omni Singers, the concert will be held Thursday, Feb. 10, and Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Building on campus.
Directed by Music Coordinator Michael McKelvey, the concert will feature the music of George and Ira Gershwin. Audience members can enjoy a variety of delectable desserts while listening to the timeless sounds of renowned music artists. Admission is free, but suggested donations are recommended. Proceeds will benefit the university's music program.

Under the direction of six faculty members, the St. Edward's music program offers courses such as piano, voice and music theory to students who are strongly passionate about the art of music. Students also can participate in four vocal ensembles: Hilltopper Chorale, Omni Singers, Vocal Jazz Ensemble and Madrigal Singers.
