Steinfels to Speak at St. Edward's University
On Friday, November 4, Margaret O'Brien Steinfels, co-director of the Fordham Center on Religion and Culture, will speak at St. Edward's University as part of the Most Reverend Bishop John McCarthy Series on the Catholic Church in the 21st Century. Steinfels lectures frequently on topics related to faith, culture, religion and the Church. Her topic is "Reading the Signs of the Times"
From 1988 – 2002, Steinfels served as the editor of Commonweal, an independent biweekly journal of political, religious and literary opinion edited by Catholic lay people. She is currently co-directing a Commonweal project, "American Catholics in the Public Square," funded by The Pew Charitable Trusts.
