Welcome Days at St. Edward's

U.S. News America's Best Colleges 2007Welcome to St. Edward’s. Join us as we kick off the fall semester and celebrate our university community. On Friday, Aug. 25, incoming freshman students will move into residence halls, enjoy a barbecue outside their new home and begin to feel at home on the hilltop.

Welcome Days, which is packed with activities, is designed to help traditional undergraduate students experience campus life, meet faculty and staff members and make them feel at home.

Whether you decide to cheer on the St. Edward’s soccer teams, attend an evening luau with new friends or wish Topper, the university’s mascot, a happy birthday during his annual blowout with Athletics, the faculty and staff members at St. Edward’s are ready for you.

During Welcome Days, make time for a very special St. Edward’s tradition — the Medallion Ceremony. Join President George E. Martin, faculty and staff members as he inducts freshmen into the academic community. During the ceremony, freshmen will receive a university medallion and gain a greater understanding of the university’s Holy Cross tradition.

After the ceremony, students walk to their particular school to familiarize themselves with the program and meet the dean and professors. The Medallion Ceremony will be held from 4-5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 27, at the Recreation and Convocation Center.
