Help kick off the 2006-07 basketball season at St. Edward's University at the Topper Basketball Tournament Rally from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, outside the Recreation and Convocation Center.

Enjoy a cookout with hamburgers, hot dogs and sausage wraps at the rally. Cash or the Topper Tender meal plan will be accepted. Have a chance to win $10,000 during half-time of both games -- just enter for a chance to roll Topper's dice.

After the rally, show your support for the Hilltoppers as the men's and women's basketball teams host the St. Edward's University Shootout -- a tournament featuring eight teams.

The women will play Texas Woman's University at 6 p.m. and the men will play Harding University at 8 p.m. at the Recreation and Convocation Center.

Pre-game festivities at the rally will include:

• Pictures with Topper
• Tattoo artist
• Free "Mad Topper" T-shirts for the first 75 student attendees
• Wacky Olympics

Plus, student attendees will be eligible for 16 prize raffles during the games. Every student in attendance gets a raffle ticket. Wear blue and gold or a Top This! T-shirt and receive an extra raffle ticket.



Student Basketball Challenge

Sign up now for the 3-on-3 student basketball challenge, open to all students. The challenge starts at 5 p.m. on Nov. 17. To sign up, contact Amy Coulter at amyc@stedwards.edu. The 3-on-3 championship will be held during halftime of the women's game. Participants have a chance to win even more raffle tickets.
