Hilltoppers Make NCAA Division II Tournament for Third-Straight Year

The St. Edward's University men's basketball team was selected for an at-large bid into the NCAA Division II National Tournament by the Tournament Selection Committee on Sunday, March 9.
St. Edward's (23–6) will be the number seven seed in the South Central Regional and will take on second-seeded Northwest Missouri State at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 15. The Bearcats have a 23–7 record and won the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association Conference Tournament on Sunday, March 9.
The selection was the third straight for the Hilltoppers but first as an at-large bid. This also marked the first time in Heartland Conference history that two teams will play in the national tournament. St. Mary's University in San Antonio is the other Heartland Conference team and the number-eight seed.
The South Central Regional will be hosted by Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. The regional quarterfinals will be held on Saturday, March 15, with the semifinals on Sunday, March 16. The championship will be played Tuesday, March 18. The winner of the regional will advance to the Elite Eight, which will be held March 26–29 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass.
