St. Edward's University Welcomes Incoming Freshmen to Orientation

In early June, new faces will arrive on campus as the Class of 2012 attends Orientation at St. Edward's University. The first group of the expected 742 incoming freshmen will visit campus June 12-13 for the opening session of the New Undergraduate Student and Parent Orientation, which welcomes the newest Hilltoppers and their parents to campus.

The New Undergraduate Student Orientation Program at St. Edward’s University is designed to provide incoming freshmen with the tools and know-how needed to help assure a smooth transition into college life.

Students will learn more about their major, meet with an academic advisor, register for classes and become acquainted with the services, organizations and people that make St. Edward’s such a remarkable place. Participation in one orientation session is required.

The remaining members of the class are set to arrive for Orientation throughout the summer on the following dates.

Session 1 – June 12-13
Session 2 – June 19-20
Session 3 – June 26-27
Session 4 – July 10-11
Session 5 – July 17-18
Session 6 – Aug. 20-21

Orientation sessions will address the St. Edward’s mission, academic requirements, faculty expectations and university resources. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to meet current student leaders, other new families, university administrators and faculty members.

The university will have a construction project underway this summer — a new residence and dining hall complex — Edmund Hunt Hall, Lady Bird Johnson Hall and Le Mans Hall. Need help navigating the campus? Please feel free to ask a member of the St. Edward’s community or consult a directional kiosk near the Bookstore.
