Bishop McCarthy Lecture Series — "Zen and the Prayer of 21st Century Catholics"
Rev. Kennedy, SJ. is a Jesuit priest, professor, psychotherapist and Zen roshi in the White Plum lineage. He was previously the chairperson of the theology department of Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City, N.J. Currently, he teaches theology and serves as representative at the United Nations of the Institute for Spiritual Consciousness in Politics.
St. Edward’s created the lecture series to honor Bishop McCarthy, who led the Diocese of Austin from 1985 to 2001, and to underscore the university’s commitment to its Catholic roots and Holy Cross Heritage.
