St. Edward's University Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

Ballet Folklorico Dancers

St. Edward's University will celebrate Mexico's Independence Day during its annual Diez y Seis de Septiembre festivities. For the eighth consecutive year, the St. Edward's Ballet Folklorico will bring the sights and sounds of Mexico to the hilltop. Mariachi Relampago will also perform traditional music.

The Diez y Seis de Septiembre celebration kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. This year's theme is "La Cultura es Vida" or "Culture is Life."

The St. Edward's community is invited to join in the following activities:

  • Diez y Seis De Septiembre Celebration: Tuesday, Sept 16, 11:45 a.m.- 1p.m
  • Latin Poetry Lounge: Thursday, Sept. 25, 7 p.m.
  • Bilingual Mass: Sunday, Sept. 28, 9 p.m.
  • Tianguis Market: Thursday, Oct. 2, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
