St. Edward's University Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month
St. Edward’s University will celebrate Mexico’s Independence Day during its annual Diez y Seis de Septiembre festivities. For the ninth consecutive year, the St. Edward’s Ballet Folklorico will bring the sights and sounds of Mexico to the hilltop. TA Brown Elementary School Ballet Folklorico will also perform traditional dances.
The Diez y Seis de Septiembre celebration kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. This year’s theme is “La Cultura es Vida” or “Culture is Life.”
The St. Edward’s community is invited to join in the following activities:
- Diez y Seis De Septiembre Celebration: Wednesday, Sept. 16, 11:45 a.m.-1p.m
- Noche de Poetas: Thursday, Nov. 5, 7 p.m.
- Bilingual Mass: Sunday, Sept. 20, 9 p.m.
- Tianguis Market: Wednesday, Oct. 14, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
