A new residential village opened in January 2009 at St. Edward’s University, adding three new residence halls — Lady Bird Johnson Hall, Le Mans Hall and Edmund Hunt Hall — to the hilltop. The 119,000 square foot complex was created by world-famous Chilean architect Alejandro Aravena, a winner of multiple international awards, including the prestigious Silver Lion Award for promising young architects. Its innovative design provides spacious living for 300. The residence halls feature ultra-modern private room and double room suites. Services and features in the village include:
- A new combined Health & Counseling Center
- Two new dining options and coffee bar
- Out Takes, a convenience shop located in Hunt Hall Café
- Courtyards, wireless zones and outdoor study spaces
