St. Edward's Women's Soccer to Host NCAA Sweet 16
For the first time in the history of St. Edward’s Athletics, the university will host the NCAA Sweet 16 on Thursday, Nov. 18. The Women’s Soccer victory against Abilene Christian on Sunday, Nov. 14 advanced the Hilltoppers to the NCAA Sweet 16 for the second-straight season and third time in program history.
The Women’s Soccer team is making history by hosting three nationally-ranked teams from California, Missouri and Washington.
The tournament gets underway at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18 with #8 St. Edward’s (16-1-2) hosting #2 Central Missouri (19-0-0). The second Sweet 16 matchup will feature #9 Seattle Pacific (16-1-2) against UC-San Diego (16-2-3) beginning at 2 p.m.
The winner of Thursday’s games will go on to The Elite Eight to be played Saturday, Nov. 20 at 1 p.m. at the St. Edward’s University Soccer Field.
The winner of Saturday’s match will advance to the NCAA Final Four which will be held in Louisville, Ky. on Dec. 2-4. Get out and support your Hilltoppers.
Tickets for the tournament are $10 for adults, $5 for students (with an ID) and senior citizens, and $2 for children ages 2-12. Children under the age of 2 will be admitted free.
